    [Updated on 2007-08-07! Kaboom!]

I’d rather spend my time exploding cows and fluffy bunnies, but there comes a time when even the most wicked of warlocks need to sit down and talk about guild rules, even if it involves enjoying a nice cup of tea, virgin blood, and what have you.

Obviously, we don’t want our merry bunch of venturers to be over-regulated, so let’s try to keep the ruleset to a minimum.

Here are the actual, hardcore, violete-these-and-we-violate-you type guild rules:

    • RESPECT THE CHICKEN! Every member of Cluckwork Orange is required to own his or her own chicken and bring it along all the time. New members that don’t have their own chicken are expected to get hold of one as soon as human-, gnome-, dwarf- or even elvenly possible. This can be achieved through either buying a lower black chicken in Tanaris or taming a higher prairie chicken by yourself in the RITUAL OF CLUCKATHUULU. Of course your guild mates will be more than happy to help you with either of them.
    • KEEP THE 1337SP34K DOWN! In /g, the guild chat channel, and the forum, please at least try to type complete sentences and adhere to the basic rules of grammar. While Cluckwork Orange isn’t a totally RP crazy guild, we do enjoy the occasional in-character banter, and hate it to be ruined by obnoxious internet shorthand. We realize that not everybody here is a native English speaker, but we can also notice the difference between someone trying to learn the language and someone actively sabotaging it.
    • ENJOY THE GAME! If at some point you feel you’re doing something out of obligation and not enjoyment, please let us know. Don’t worry about what kind of class or professions the guild needs; just worry about what you would like to play. Enjoying the game and having fun is our top priority. Also, we consider real life to be infinitely more important than our bloody adventures of murderous mayhem in the world of Azeroth. If someone needs to leace unexpectedly because of real life matters, nobody will be mad with you — these things happen.

So much for the “rule” part. So where’s the “information”? Well, it’s not here yet. Cut me some slack, my controlling entity needs to follow the WWDC keynote. :P

The most important matters have been adressed. If any other useful thoughts reveals itself to me via chicken, I shall let you know.

I agree. I'll put down some recommendations for guild addons later on, too.

In any case, holler if you're looking for someone to run through some quests with you, we'll do our best to help you out ...or drag you along, or stand in your way.

how about a limitation on how much rp there will be?
because I am NOT planning to marry anyone as I am quite happy in rl and overdoing the whole rp thing can get really annoying

i know its easy to ask and hard to implement, but maybe some kind of agreement that we are a light rp guild and that heavy rps should be supported to find themselves a heavy rp guild

Well we already are a casual RP guild right? Is there anything to change then? If (new) members weren't informed of the fact we are casual, they can always find another guild if they wish, or live with casual RP, right? :D

I suppose the important word here is "tolerance", guys. We realize that people play this game for all sorts of different reasons. I don't see a problem with having hardcore RPers in the guild as long as they don't object to people choosing not to take part; and it's also the other way around.

    Well said, Ampere.

The guild channel is for both IC and OOC chat. We make no real difference between those two. If you like to, use “(( ... ))” to mark your OOC banter, but don’t expect anyone else do it as well. :)

In fact, one of our newer members suggested to use “((” and “))”, but accepted that I decided against doing it like this. In the last few days we changed back and forth between both forms of chat, it worked well, and noone was hurt. So let’s leave it at that.

Also, I remember times past in a guild left behind where /g was strictly for IC and /o (officers chat, open for everyone) was used for OOC chat, but that got confusing raaaaaaather quickly.

    So, let’s keep it simple.

Simple is good. As one of the blue guys, you should know!
