Mwahaha! Someone requested this thread. So, here goes:

At home, I play on a P4 2.4 GHz with 1 GB RAM and a Geforce 6800 GT. The performance is "pretty good". I get the occasional slowdown, but overall it performs really well. In my office, where I play occasionally, I play on a shiny new 24" iMac with a 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM and a Geforce 7600 GT. (24"! Whee!)

    And everybody else?

Hehe, here it goes for me:

I run an AMD 3000+ @ 2,31Ghz, 512MB RAM (soon to be 2GB), and an old school Hercules 9000 Pro with a Zalman VF700Cu hooked to a 17" Syncmaster (ooh CRT!). Oh yeah a Seagate 250GB SATA HDD keeps the data safe. Performs ok, in spite of the old graphics card; but I'm really looking forward to the RAM upgrade, should boost performance, like, hella! :D

We’s got an AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 6600 GT hooked up to a crappy HP 17” crt which seems to be having problems…Hopefully it will break so I have an excuse to get a new one :) This baby runs everything pretty well which might have something to do with the fact that its only used for WOW at the moment…

Yay! Got my RAM last night! Praise the warlocks! (and mages!)

So the system clearly breathes much easier, especially in busy places like Stormwind I have no trouble anymore!

    Oh joy! :D

Soooooo, next upgrade will probably be a LCD, most likely a 19"...

    Replaced my old 9000pro for a 256MB Asus 7600GS (got the 9000 humming in my old P4 system, which is now also WoW worthy :P ), got a new power supply (Zalman 600hp :D) and ordered a new lcd (Asus VW202S, 20,1" ) :D :D :D Can't wait!! :D

WOw.. Yours are real horsepower compared to my old laddy.
AMD XP 2400+ (but only got 2000 Mhz)
1,25 GB RAM ( Stormwind market is a pain in the arse..)
    ATI Raedeon 9600
    Now the best: 22" LCD

All in all, WOW is playable. :P

    Hehe ^^

I got a Samsung 2032BW instead of the Asus though; both great screens (Zahir is running an Asus 202). What mb do you have in there Thrymr? A 2gb kit probably wouldn't hurt...AMD S.A 4000+ aren't very expensive anymore (unless you're planning on upgrading your system soon, these are pretty cheap easy upgrades). If you have S-ata support on your mobo you could always upgrade your hdd while you're at it :D

I got an "A" socked mobo from Gigabyte Technology Co. , nothing special.. "very" old though.
I could only get a 2800+ for that kind of socket. So not really worth it.
    Mb: 2x 512 DDR-SDRAM PC2100
    1x 256 DDR-SDRAM PC3200 (Ehh..does that actually work together??)

Conclusion: Need to get myself a new computer! :P

Mine's a Socket A as well :P Weird that you can't get anything faster, but a full upgrade is probably your best option, if you have the $ to spare :)

As far as your RAM goes, that doesn't really work well together, no. It's very possible your system will be faster if you take out the 256 chip...but you can get a reasonable system for a few hundred euros...depending on the config...

Yeah P, I wished there would be a big white shiny apple on that tower :D
But it's only a Microstar. And the worst thing it is powered by "Medion" !
Pitty, I found that out after I bought him. Medion products are usually unable to upgrade, means
the mainboard is kinda fixed with some sort of glue. But I actually don't care about that anymore, cos WoW is now playable with all details pushed up to it's limit! xD
